Runway Pricing, Runway AI Pricing and Runway ML Plans in 2026

Runway costs $15, $35, or $95 a month for Standard, Pro, and Max, or $12, $28, and $76 billed yearly. Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, so Standard buys about 52 seconds of footage a month before retries.

Runway pricing in 2026 starts at $15 a month for Standard with 625 credits, $35 for Pro with 2,250 credits, and $95 for Max with 9,500 credits, or $12, $28, and $76 a month billed yearly. The Free plan gives 125 one-time credits, and Team and Enterprise plans are sold per seat. Gen-4.5 video costs 12 credits per second, so Standard buys about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 footage a month before any retries.

Runway is a generative video and image platform: you describe a shot, or give it a reference image, and a model such as Gen-4.5, Aleph, Kling, or Seedance renders a few seconds of new footage. Everything on the platform is paid for in credits. The figures below come from the live Runway pricing page and its FAQ, read in October 2026, in US dollars. If you are shopping for a tool and not only a model, the part that matters is how far those credits go once you count the shots you throw away.

The yearly toggle takes 20 percent off. On Standard that is $36 a year saved, on Pro $84, and on Max $228. Individual plans belong to one person, so a team that wants shared credits and projects looks at the Team plan instead of buying several Pro seats.

What happened to the Runway Unlimited plan?

The Unlimited plan no longer appears on the Runway pricing page. The top individual tier is now Max at $95 a month or $76 billed yearly, the same price points the old Unlimited plan used, and price trackers record it as a rename. Max comes with a fixed 9,500 credits a month rather than open-ended generation, plus a one month rollover of unused credits, so plan your volume on the credit number, not on the word unlimited.

How Runway credits work, model by model

Credits are charged per generation, and the rate depends on the model, the length, and the resolution. Runway publishes the rates on the pricing page, and they differ by more than ten times from the cheapest image model to the most expensive video model:

Model or toolCredit costWhat Standard yearly buys in a year
Gen-4.5 video60 credits per 5 seconds (12 per second)125 five second clips
Aleph 2.0 video140 credits per 5 seconds53 clips
Seedance 2.0 Pro, 1080p160 credits per 4 seconds46 clips
Seedance 2.0 Fast116 credits per 4 seconds64 clips
Gen-4 Image, 1080p8 credits per image937 images
Gen-4 Image Turbo2 credits per image3,750 images
Text to speech1 credit per 50 characters375,000 characters
Seed Audio 1.015 credits per minute500 minutes

Three rules from the Runway FAQ decide whether a plan is enough. Monthly credits on Standard and Pro do not roll over and reset within 24 hours of the billing date. Max rolls over up to one month of unused credits. Extra credits are bought from the Plans and Billing page with a minimum purchase of 1,000 credits, and purchased credits never expire. The Free plan's 125 credits also do not expire, but they are a one-time deposit.

What a 30 second marketing video costs on Runway

Runway sells seconds of footage, and a marketing video is more than footage. A typical 30 second ad or social video is six shots of about five seconds, a voiceover, captions, and a music bed. Here is the footage alone on Gen-4.5, at the plan's own credit price:

PlanPrice per credit30 seconds of Gen-4.5, every shot a keeper30 seconds with two attempts per shot
Standard, monthly2.4 cents$8.64 (360 credits)$17.28 (720 credits, more than the month allows)
Standard, yearly1.9 cents$6.91$13.82
Pro, monthly1.6 cents$5.60$11.20
Pro, yearly1.2 cents$4.48$8.96
Max, monthly1.0 cent$3.60$7.20
Max, yearly0.8 cents$2.88$5.76

The two attempts column is the honest one. Generative models miss: a hand comes out wrong, the product label warps, the camera move is not the one you asked for, and every retry is billed like the first try. On Standard, one 30 second video with a single retry per shot uses more credits than the plan includes in a month. That is why most marketers who stay on Runway end up on Pro or Max, and why the realistic Runway budget for a weekly video is $28 to $76 a month before the editing time.

The footage is also not the finished video. Runway can generate a voice and music on every paid plan, but cutting the shots to the voiceover, timing captions, and exporting a vertical, square, and wide version is still your job, in Runway or in a separate editor. Budget that hour per video too.

Which Runway plan should you buy?

Standard fits someone testing ideas: storyboards, mood shots, a few hero clips a month for a bigger edit. At 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 a month it is not a production plan for weekly video.

Pro is where working creators and small teams land. 2,250 credits is a little over three minutes of Gen-4.5, which covers three to six finished 30 second pieces depending on how many shots you regenerate, and it is the cheapest plan that can buy top-ups.

Max is for heavy solo use and anyone who needs ProRes, HDR, or image sequences for a real post-production pipeline. The one month rollover helps when production is lumpy, such as a campaign month followed by a quiet one.

Team is worth pricing once two or more people generate on the same projects, because pooled credits avoid one seat running dry while another sits on a full balance.

Runway vs a flat text-to-video plan

Runway is the right tool when the shot itself is the product: an impossible camera move, a stylized scene, a product in a setting you could never afford to film. Nothing in a stock library replaces that.

Most business video is different. A product explainer, a blog recap, an offer ad, or a weekly social short needs a clear script, a voice, captions people can read on mute, and footage that matches each line. For that job VidUp takes a script, a blog post, or a product URL and returns the finished video in one render: AI voiceover, word-timed captions, licensed stock footage matched to each line, and music, in 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 at once. There are no credits, so a retry does not cost anything extra.

PlanBilled yearlyWhat a month buysCost per finished 30 second video
Runway Pro$28 a monthAbout 3 minutes of Gen-4.5 footage, which you edit into videosAbout $4.50 to $9 of footage, plus editing time
Runway Max$76 a monthAbout 13 minutes of Gen-4.5 footageAbout $2.90 to $5.80 of footage, plus editing time
VidUp Starter$24 a month ($288 a year)30 finished narrated videos$0.80, nothing left to edit
VidUp Growth$49 a month75 finished videos, premium voices, 2 seats$0.65

The trade is real in both directions. VidUp does not generate new footage, has no avatars, no editor, and does not import your clips, so it cannot make the cinematic shot Runway makes. Runway cannot hand you a captioned, narrated, three-format video from a blog URL without someone assembling it. Plenty of teams run both: Runway for the hero shots in a launch campaign, a flat plan for the weekly calendar. And when a finished ad is ready to run, an AI media buyer that builds and manages the campaign from your URL and budget is the usual next step.

If you are leaving Runway for marketing work, the Runway alternatives page compares the options by job, and VidUp vs Runway puts the two side by side. For the rest of the market, how much AI video generators cost prices 17 tools per finished video, and AI video pricing without credits covers the flat-plan tools. You can test VidUp on your own script in the console at the top of this page, then pick a plan on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions about Runway pricing

How much does Runway cost per month?

Runway costs $15 a month for Standard, $35 for Pro, and $95 for Max on monthly billing, or $12, $28, and $76 a month billed yearly. Those plans include 625, 2,250, and 9,500 credits a month. The Free plan is $0 with 125 one-time credits, and Team and Enterprise are priced per seat.

Is Runway free to use?

Runway has a free plan with 125 one-time credits, a selection of models, and 5 GB of storage. At 12 credits per second, 125 credits is about 10 seconds of Gen-4.5 video, enough to judge the quality of the model but not to produce a finished piece. The credits do not refresh, so any regular use needs a paid plan.

Does Runway still have an Unlimited plan?

No. The Runway pricing page now lists Free, Standard, Pro, and Max for individuals, plus Team and Enterprise. Max sits at the old Unlimited price, $95 a month or $76 billed yearly, but includes a fixed 9,500 credits a month with a one month rollover instead of unlimited generations.

How many seconds of video do Runway credits buy?

Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, so Standard buys about 52 seconds a month, Pro about 187 seconds, and Max about 791 seconds. Aleph 2.0 and Seedance cost more per second, Gen-4 Turbo less. Every retry is billed the same as the first attempt, so real output is usually lower.

Do Runway credits roll over?

Not on Standard or Pro. Monthly credits reset within 24 hours of the billing date and unused ones are lost. Max rolls over up to one month of unused credits. Credits you buy separately, with a minimum of 1,000, never expire, and the Free plan's 125 credits do not expire either.

Is Runway worth it for marketing videos?

Runway is worth it when you need shots nobody can film, such as a stylized product scene for a launch. For weekly marketing videos built from scripts and blog posts, it is expensive per finished video because you pay for every retry and still edit the result, and a flat text-to-video plan usually costs less in money and time.
