Klap pricing in 2026 is $29 a month for Basic, $79 for Pro, and $189 for Pro+, or $14, $39, and $94 a month billed yearly. The plans differ by how many clips you can generate: 100, 300, or 1,000 a month. Every plan includes AI clipping, unlimited social accounts, and analytics, and the Klap API is billed separately per operation, from $0.32.

Klap is a clipping tool. You give it a long video, usually a podcast, a webinar, a stream, or a YouTube upload, and it finds the moments worth posting, reframes them to vertical, adds captions, and hands you a batch of Shorts, Reels, and TikToks. What you pay for is the number of clips it generates. The numbers below come from the rendered klap.app/pricing page and the Klap API documentation, checked on October 24, 2026, because the directory sites that rank for this query disagree with each other and with Klap.

Klap pricing plans in 2026

Here is the full Klap plan lineup. Monthly and yearly prices are per account, and the yearly toggle on the pricing page is labeled Save 50%.

PlanWho Klap pitches it toClips a monthMonthly billingBilled yearlyYearly total
BasicIndividuals100$29$14 a month$168
Pro, labeled PopularProfessionals300$79$39 a month$468
Pro+Teams1,000$189$94 a month$1,128

All three plans list the same three inclusions: AI clipping, unlimited social accounts, and analytics. Klap does not split features across tiers on the pricing page, so moving up buys clip volume, not a different product. For volume beyond Pro+, the page says to contact sales.

If you have seen other numbers, that is why this post exists. One directory lists Starter at $23, Pro at $63, and Pro+ at $151. Another lists a $14 to $94 range without separating monthly from yearly billing. Neither matches the plan names and prices Klap shows today, so check the yearly toggle before you compare.

How much does Klap cost per year?

Klap costs $168 a year on Basic, $468 on Pro, and $1,128 on Pro+ with yearly billing. Paid monthly for twelve months, the same plans cost $348, $948, and $2,268. The yearly plan cuts the bill roughly in half, which matches the Save 50% label, but you pay the full year upfront.

Yearly billing makes sense once you know your clip volume. A podcaster who publishes one episode a week and posts five clips from each needs about 20 clips a month, which fits inside Basic with room to spare. An agency cutting clips for six clients will hit the Pro ceiling fast and should price Pro+ before committing to a year.

What one Klap clip really costs

At full use, a Klap clip costs about $0.29 on Basic monthly, $0.26 on Pro, and $0.19 on Pro+. With yearly billing those drop to about $0.14, $0.13, and $0.09. That is the subscription price divided by the monthly clip allowance, and it only holds if you use the whole allowance.

PlanPer clip, monthly billingPer clip, yearly billingPer clip if you use only 20 a month (yearly)
Basic$0.29$0.14$0.70
Pro$0.26$0.13$1.95
Pro+$0.19$0.09$4.70

The last column is the one most buyers skip. Klap counts clips it generates, and you will not post every clip it suggests. If a one hour episode produces ten candidates and you publish four, your real cost per published clip is two and a half times the headline number. The cheapest Klap plan is the one whose allowance you actually fill with clips you keep.

Klap API pricing

The Klap API is usage based and billed monthly per operation: $0.32 to generate a short, $0.44 to process a video input, and $0.48 to export a video. It is separate from the Basic, Pro, and Pro+ subscriptions, which cover the web app. The API pricing page in the Klap docs was last updated in November 2024, so confirm the rates in your dashboard before you build on them.

API operationPriceWhat it does
Generate short$0.32Creates one short form video from an input
Video input$0.44Processes and analyzes one source video
Export$0.48Renders a processed video to a final file

As an illustration, one source video turned into five shorts that you export would be $0.44 for the input, $1.60 for five generations, and $2.40 for five exports, about $4.44 in total, or roughly $0.89 per exported short. That is several times the per clip cost of a fully used web plan, which is normal for API pricing: you pay for automation and for not having anyone click through the app. The API also supports managed sub-users and an embeddable editor, which is why agencies and SaaS products use it.

Is Klap free?

No, Klap has no free plan. Its FAQ says you can try it and create one video for free, then upgrade to a paid plan, starting at $29 a month. The homepage says the trial needs no credit card. One video is enough to judge clip quality on your own content, so test it on a recording that represents what you publish every week, not your best episode.

Which Klap plan should you buy?

Pick by the clips you will publish each month, then add a margin for the ones you discard.

  • Basic at $14 a month yearly fits a solo podcaster or YouTuber posting up to about 50 clips a month from weekly long form content. 100 generated clips leaves room to throw half away.
  • Pro at $39 a month yearly fits a creator posting daily across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, or a small team clipping two or three shows. 300 clips a month is about 10 a day.
  • Pro+ at $94 a month yearly fits agencies and media teams clipping for several clients or channels. At 1,000 clips, the per clip price is the lowest Klap offers, but only if you have the source footage to feed it.
  • The API fits developers and platforms that want clipping inside their own product, priced per operation instead of per seat.

The common mistake is buying for a channel you hope to have. Klap needs long recordings to work with. If you publish one podcast a week, no plan changes how many good moments that episode contains.

Klap vs VidUp when you have no footage

Klap is the right buy when you already record long videos and want clips from them. VidUp is the buy when you have text and no footage at all. Paste a script, a blog post, or a product URL into VidUp and it returns a finished video with an AI voiceover, burned-in captions, licensed stock footage matched to each line, and music, exported in 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 from one render.

The two tools solve different problems, and plenty of teams use both. A B2B company might clip its monthly webinar in Klap and use VidUp to turn its feature pages and blog posts into short videos, since those never had a recording in the first place. VidUp Growth is $99 a month or $49 billed yearly for 75 videos and 2 seats, and Pro is $199 or $99 billed yearly for 200 videos, 4K, 5 brand kits, and API access. There are no credits on any VidUp plan.

VidUp has no avatars, no timeline editor, and does not import video, so it will not clip your podcast. If clipping is the job, Klap or one of its peers is the right category. If the job is making video from words, compare the workflows on Klap alternatives and the side by side on VidUp vs Klap, see how text to video works, and check VidUp pricing. There is a one-time demo, no free plan.

Is Klap worth it?

Klap is worth it if you record at least one long video a week and post clips from it on two or more platforms. At $14 a month on Basic yearly, a weekly podcast that becomes 20 posted clips costs about $0.70 a clip, far less than an editor's time to find, cut, reframe, and caption each one. It is not worth it if you do not have long recordings, because Klap cannot create a video from nothing.

Creators who earn from affiliate links can also send clip viewers to a creator storefront for the gear and software you recommend, which gives a short clip somewhere to point beyond the next episode. Judge the subscription by the clips you publish and what they bring back, not by the clips Klap generates.

Frequently asked questions about Klap pricing

Does Klap have a free plan?

Is there a cheaper alternative to Klap?

For clipping long videos, Klap Basic at $14 a month yearly is already one of the lower prices in the category. If you do not have long videos and want finished videos from scripts, blog posts, or product pages, VidUp Starter at $24 a month billed yearly for 30 videos is the better fit for that job.
